What's new in the console and the app

What changed in each version of the WaitScope console and Android app, newest first, from the downloaded HTML that opens bit by bit in console 1.7.0 to the terms acceptance of 1.5.0.

Applies to: Console and Android app

The changes to the console and the Android app, newest first. The console version appears in the footer of every page, as WaitScope 1.7.0; the app version, in Settings.

Console 1.7.0

In production since October 29, 2026.

  • Downloaded HTML that opens bit by bit. The file opens with the summary and the lists, and the detail of each statement and each object is built only when you click it: even the report with all statements opens light. In the index, Find a statement by sql_id takes you to the statement by the start of its sql_id (Download the report).
  • Object details in the downloaded HTML. The obj# leads to the object detail in the file itself, with the type, the wait and Where it appears in the trace. The ready-made queries stay on the object page, in the console (Objects with the most wait).
  • Download PDF. Next to Download HTML and Download JSON, it opens the full report, with the detail of every statement and object, and calls the browser's print dialog to save as PDF.
  • Plan note with variants. For a statement with the N variants badge, the plan note says plan written N times, showing the slowest recording (Execution plan).

Console 1.6.0

In production since October 28, 2026.

  • Console at https://app.waitscope.com. The console moved to https://app.waitscope.com/. The previous address, https://waitscope.io, still serves the Android app configured with it and takes the browser to the new address. Update your bookmarks and, in the app, change the server address (Upload traces with the Android app).
  • Statements added up by shape. Statements that differ only in their literals become a single row, the shape: the text with :s and :n in place of the literals, the N variants badge and the totals added up. In the shape detail, the Variants that cost the most table shows the literals of each one (Variants that cost the most).
  • Estimated counts. In a trace with many distinct statements, the analysis starts adding up instead of keeping the detail of each statement. Three warnings at the top of the report say which limit was reached, and the estimated counts appear as about N (trace with many statements).
  • Finding for literals without binds. The diagnosis points out the shapes in which the PARSE of the variants weighs on the session: “Statement #n: n variants of the same SQL, differing only in literals” (SQL with literals instead of bind variables).
  • Previews that show the difference. When two statements start the same way, each one shows its beginning, a … and the part where it differs from the others.
  • Number mask. The numbers option now hides every number used as a value, short or long, also in GROUP BY and in SQL comments; only the position in ORDER BY stays. With any mask option on, the SQL ID of the variants does not appear (Hidden literals in the SQL).

Android app 1.2.1

Published on October 28, 2026.

  • In Settings, the Legal documents section opens the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Notice and the Accessibility Statement in the browser, in the app language.
  • When the account has not yet accepted the current version of the terms, the app shows Terms not accepted yet, with the Open in browser button.
  • The server address field suggests https://app.waitscope.com. An app already configured with https://waitscope.io keeps working and does not change the address on its own: use Change server, in Settings.

Console 1.5.1

In production since October 28, 2026.

  • The analysis list refreshes on its own, without reloading the page, while there is an analysis queued or in progress.
  • An accepted upload is no longer cut off in the middle.
  • The text of the terms acceptance screen changed.
  • Disk space reserve. An upload only starts if it fits on the server together with the uploads already accepted. Without space, the page shows No space on the server, and the API responds 503 sem_espaco.
  • Sign-in attempts no longer store the text typed in the username field, which is sometimes a password typed in the wrong place.

Console 1.5.0

In production since October 27, 2026.

  • On first access, the console asks for acceptance of the Terms of Service and confirmation that you have read the Privacy Policy, and asks again when the version of either one changes. Until acceptance, the API responds 403 termos_pendentes, except on GET /eu and DELETE /sessao.
  • The footer of every console page, including the sign-in page, links to the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Notice and the Accessibility Statement, in the page language.
  • Console at https://waitscope.io. On the same day, the console replaced the old address with https://waitscope.io, with a direct connection to the server in Brazil. Since 1.6.0, the address is https://app.waitscope.com.

Earlier versions

Console versions 1.0 to 1.4 and app versions 1.0 to 1.2.0 have no published change log. There is also no record of the version that brought in these changes, which apply to the current console:

  • The trace does not stay on the server. The uploaded file is deleted as soon as the analysis ends, done or with an error, and only the report remains. There is no trace download and no reprocessing: to analyze again, upload the file again.
  • Report privacy. In My account, two options hide the quoted text and the numbers of the SQL on screen, in the app and in downloaded reports. Both come on. The current rule for numbers is the one from console 1.6.0.
  • Upload in chunks from the page. The browser sends the files in chunks of up to 8 MiB, with a progress bar. After a network drop, uploading the same files again continues from where it stopped.
